| 1. | Are complimentary media credentials available for representatives of the media? |
| | Representatives of print and electronic media focusing on information technology and higher education with plans to cover the EDUCAUSE 2007 Annual Conference in their publications are welcome to request complimentary media credentials for registration. NOTE: Only TWO complimentary registrations per publication/organization will be allowed, regardless of an individual’s affiliation or place of employment. Complimentary registration covers only the conference proper and does NOT include preconference seminars, which have separate registration fees. If you wish to request credentials, please contact: Peter DeBlois Director of Programs and Media Relations EDUCAUSE 303-544-5665 pdeblois@educause.edu

| 2. | Is a list of registered media representatives available? |
| | All individuals registered for the conference who have media activity records in the EDUCAUSE database are included in the list of media representatives. This is a dynamic list, growing as individuals register, and is generally not stable until approximately one week prior to the conference. |
| 3. | How may the press room be used? |
| | The press room will be available for display of exhibitors’ media/product kits, exhibitors' scheduled news/product announcement events, and media representatives' scheduled meetings with exhibitors. Exhibitors and representatives of the media are welcome to visit the press room, take materials, schedule meetings with exhibitors, and attend exhibitors’ presentations (but not those meetings designated as CLOSED and to which they have not been invited), a schedule of which will be posted outside the room. |
| 4. | What is the procedure for placing exhibitor media kits in the press room? |
| | Each exhibitor wishing to provide materials for the media must deliver materials to room #614 and arrange them on the perimeter tables so as not to interfere with other exhibitors' materials. Hand delivery and setup of materials in the press room are the sole responsibility of the exhibiting corporation—EDUCAUSE will not be responsible for such materials shipped to the convention center. The press room will be set up and available for media kits by noon on Monday, October 22. EDUCAUSE staff will check the room periodically throughout exhibit days to ensure neatness. |
| 5. | How will the press room be configured, and what technology will be available? |
| | The press room will have theater seating and one round table, with a total seating capacity of approximately 30. There will be a speaker lectern with electrical power, a laptop-compatible projector, and a screen. Wireless Internet connectivity WILL be available in the room; there will be NO hard-drop Internet connectivity and NO telephone line. In addition, there will be draped tables around the room for materials display. No food or beverages are allowed in the press room; water pitchers and glasses will be provided. |
| 6. | How can the Press Room be scheduled? |
| | Events may be scheduled by exhibitors or media representatives for half- or one-hour periods when the room is open (see the schedule grid on the main Media & Press Room page). Event requests must be e-mailed no later than 48 hours prior to the event to Peter DeBlois, director of programs and media relations, at pdeblois@educause.edu. NOTE: In making these requests, if you want only invited guests to attend (see next FAQ), indicate that the event is CLOSED. Any event not marked CLOSED will be presumed to be open. The schedule grid on the main Media & Press Room page reflects the updated press room schedule. In addition, an updated master schedule will be posted outside the press room each exhibit day.
| 7. | Are there limitations on when and how often the same organization may schedule the press room? |
| | Are there limitations on when and how often the same organization may schedule the press room? The press room may only be scheduled during the time blocks and days specified on the schedule grid on the main Media & Press Room page. Each exhibitor or media representative may reserve a total of one hour (two half-hour blocks) on any one day of the schedule and no more than a total of three hours over the three days.
| 8. | How can individuals be invited to events scheduled in the press room? |
| | It is the responsibility of individuals/organizations scheduling events in the press room to notify those whom they wish to invite. NOTE: Under no circumstances may the press room be scheduled for events intended for general conference attendees and announced at an exhibitor’s booth. Media-related events are not included in the online or print conference schedule, and no notice will be sent by EDUCAUSE to registered media representatives or exhibitors. No one should assume that simply reserving time in the press room will mean that media representatives will check the schedule posted outside the press room and show up. Exhibitors are free to invite any and all on the list of registered media representatives. Media representatives wishing to meet with/interview exhibitor representatives may also schedule the press room and send separate invitations. |
