In August 2008, Duke University opened an innovative, technology-enhanced learning space, the Link, in Perkins Library. Developed and managed by a cross-unit team, the Link's physical layout, technical infrastructure and overall support model provide a new type of highly flexible, active learning environment for classes and co-curricular activities, supporting collaborative pedagogies, group work, and connections with remote participants, in close proximity to library resources. The presentation will outline our planning, implementation, and assessment processes, with particular focus on how others can adapt the Duke Link model to attain similar benefits for collaborative and technology-enhanced teaching and learning.
