How are Web 2.0 tools changing student attitudes and expectations for education? This presentation discusses how to leverage social networking tools and to create personal learning environments for professional competency development. We explain technology choices, curricular implementation, and student reactions. A pilot group of 16 students examining Web 2.0 tools and over 250 students creating electronic portfolios (e-portfolios) in business, architectural design, and computer graphics classes are understood from 15 years of online collaboration. We will explain our progress over the past year, what we have learned, what has worked, what has not, and where we go from here.
