This session will describe the evolution of Collaborative Statistics from hard-copy text, to a Web 1.0 version, to its recent Web 2.0 mode. The speaker will include various enhancements and supplemental materials to the text that have resulted from making the book open. She will explain why these enhancements improved the text, increased faculty engagement, and bettered teaching (and therefore improved student learning). Participants will learn how open educational resources can improve student learning, how to include OER as the text or supplemental materials in a course, and how authors "win" by making their materials open.
