Education for Our Times: Expertise and Engagement
May 24–25, 2006
Join Chris Dede, distinguished learning technologies professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, Matthew Szulik, Red Hat CEO, and other eminent speakers at the ELI Web Symposium, Education for Our Times: Expertise and Engagement. At this online event on May 24–25, we will discuss the kind of education today's learners need and look for answers to such questions as:
What will it take for our students to be successful in an era of complexity and rapid change?
How do we create engaging and successful learning environments?
What are our roles?
Register Now
You and others at ELI member institutions are receiving this exclusive initial registration notice to give you time to register before a broad announcement about the symposium is made at the beginning of April. Attending the symposium as a team with others from your organization can be especially productive; look for a discussion guide later on the Web site.
Registration is required but is free to anyone from your institution. Because virtual seating is limited and ELI events often fill quickly, we encourage you to register early. Register now.
How the Web Symposium Works
The two-day online symposium consists of four hour-long sessions held on two consecutive afternoons. Sessions are separated by 15-minute breaks.
The sessions will be presented synchronously, and online communication with other participants and the speakers will be possible.
Once you have registered for the symposium, you are free to attend the sessions of your choosing.
All sessions will be archived and publicly available after the event.
About the ELI Web Symposium
A flexible and affordable complement to face-to-face meetings, the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative symposium is a multiday, synchronous online event during which recognized experts discuss important topics in teaching, learning, and technology.
