POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
ITHACA COLLEGE
WEB AND MULTIMEDIA DEVELOPER (2 Positions) ACADEMIC COMPUTING & CLIENT SERVICES
Academic Computing and Client Services (ACCS), a division of the Office of Information Technology (OIT), is seeking applications for two Web and Multimedia Developers. These new positions have been created to provide presentation and software development for Web-based and digital multimedia services, one in support of the College's Web-based marketing efforts, and the other to support the development of instructional material for faculty.
These positions offer the opportunity to work in a complex, state-of-the-art technical environment, and play a key role in strategic cutting-edge development for highly visible projects. Competitive salary and excellent benefits.
Required qualifications for both positions: bachelor's degree, preferably in a digital graphics design related program, or the equivalent in education and experience as illustrated by portfolio; expertise in the creation of Web graphics and authoring using tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, ImageReady, Illustrator and Macromedia Flash, along with basic HTML and Javascript; practical experience in working with other forms of multimedia including preparing digital audio and video files for Web publishing (compression, optimization, formats etc.); ability to communicate technical material to non-technical users; demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of team of developers and independently; attention to detail; and strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
Desired qualifications for both positions: experience in developing dynamically driven Web based media; experience in digital photography and/or video; a working knowledge of interactive multimedia development tools; experience in graphics/animation development through 3-D modeling software; good programming skills. Additional desired qualifications for instructional development position: experience or training in instructional design, experience in an academic environment and/or teaching experience.
