An efficient, self-directed and detail-oriented individual is needed to support the Office of Admissions. The Data Management Specialist maintains the data integrity of the Admissions database and provides general technical expertise. This position researches, extracts, compiles, and analyzes data; develops periodic reports and processes ad hoc reporting requests; assists in documenting and training of related procedures; creates, maintains, and updates databases; and researches and resolves issues associated with information in the database. Using our current database, you will extrapolate data and create reports for managers to analyze their department efficiencies and progress toward goals, supporting direct marketing execution and efficient application processing. Major efforts will be made in list management and ROI analysis including: Circulation/List Analysis, Statistical analysis, Campaign results analysis, Data cleaning & auditing, Data appending, List updating, Test and control segmentation. Responsibilities also include: Responsible for the operational maintenance and data integrity of the Recruitment Plus database and ensures accuracy of data by updating and changing student information, and by developing methods to check for discrepancies between Recruitment Plus and Datatel, the campus-wide database Builds and maintains data mapping and import and export rules for Recruitment Plus of a wide range of source files, including Common Application, CollegeNet, ACT, and SAT Works closely with Information Services staff to improve database operations and data import/export processes; monitors, filters and corrects data Maintains and develops letter generation and communication plans and develops ad-hoc reports Troubleshoots and problem solves all system related issues Performs database and import table maintenance Creates and maintains queries and communication flow rules Generates reports for Admissions staff and other departments as requested Assists Office Manager with mailings to prospective students, institutions and businesses, compiles data and mail merge reports for direct and e-mail campaigns, and streamlines office operations to maximize efficiency Assists with data entry during high volume periods Participates in on-campus recruitment events and performs other duties as required Qualifications: Database management experience, and experience with Microsoft Access, Microsoft Office Suite. Desired skills include demonstrated ability creating reports (MS Access, Excel, Crystal reports, etc.), and database programming experience. Knowledge of database and/or contact management tools, such as SQL, Microsoft Access, Excel, SAS, Oracle, FoxPro, oracle, DATATEL, Uni-data, etc. is preferred. HS diploma and two years experience required, a college degree (AA, BS, BA) or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
