Consortial IT Services: Collaborating to Reduce the Pain

The Connecticut Distance Learning Consortium provides its members with a wealth of IT services while containing costs.

Ed Klonoski

Ed Klonoski is Executive Director of the Connecticut Distance Learning Consortium, a collaborative effort by 50 Connecticut institutions of learning to deliver high quality, web-based education. From Course Management System applications, to pedagogy, student services, and institutional research, Klonoski has facilitated the Consortium’s online innovations. During the 2005 academic year, the Consortium offered 1,589 online courses to 25,407 students in support of 43 online degree and certificate programs. In addition, Ed oversees the CTDLC’s grant projects which include a Davis Foundation grant, a FIPSE, and an award by CT’s State Department of Education. The CTDLC has also been chosen one of 15 Demonstration Program sites by the US Department of Education, so Klonoski is learning the financial aid business. In 2004, the CTDLC received an Education Excellence Award from the New England Board of Higher Education.
