Top Campus IT Challenges for 2001


The second annual EDUCAUSE current issues survey finds administrative systems challenges have escalated, the IT staffing crisis continues, distance education is steady state, and security management has the potential to explode.

Julia A. Rudy

Julia A. Rudy has retired as a full-time staff member of EDUCAUSE but is still active through her coordination of the EDUCAUSE Core Data Service program, an activity she helped to develop over the past two years as director of product development. Previously she was director of research and development and editor of EDUCAUSE Quarterly at EDUCAUSE and director of publications and editor of CAUSE/EFFECT journal for more than seventeen years at CAUSE. She served as the series editor of the EDUCAUSE Leadership Strategies book series, published by Jossey-Bass, from its inception through the publication of the sixth title in 2002. Rudy was a co-author of Campus Financial Systems for the Future (National Association of College and University Business Officers and CAUSE, 1996) and co-editor of Information Technology in Higher Education: Assessing Its Impact and Planning for the Future (Jossey-Bass, 1999) and Technology Everywhere (Jossey-Bass, 2002). She is a graduate of Duquesne University, where she received a B.A. in English literature
