Session Type: Concurrent Session
Many colleges have low success rates in their developmental math programs. Do the Math is a Next Generation Learning Challenges Wave 1 project that seeks to address this problem by increasing student engagement by introducing course redesign in the developmental math program. Chattanooga State Community College, Jefferson Community and Technical College, University of Hawaii-Maui College, and Education Trust join forces in this project, introducing course redesign at each college in order to increase student engagement and learning in their developmental math programs.
Learning Objectives:
*Learn about the principles of course redesign
*Learn about the redesign of developmental math at each of the three colleges in the Do the Math project
*Identify how similar strategies might be employed at their college in order to increase student success and learning
