The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is increasing its efforts to enhance cybersecurity awareness and network protection at colleges and universities in response to the recent wave of cyberattacks and data breaches. DHS will be providing a threat brief on the landscape of cyberthreats facing colleges and universities, as well as DHS resources, programs, and tools to help colleges and universities maintain secure networks and prevent cyberattacks. In coordination with our federal partners and the private sector, DHS responds to cyberincidents, provides technical assistance to owners and operators of critical infrastructure, and disseminates notifications regarding current and potential security threats and vulnerabilities. In addition, the U.S. Secret Service and Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigate federal cybercrimes, including data breaches, cyberintrusions, and attacks.
