Kindergarten Tips for Success in Teaching and Learning IT

Tuesday, September 15 | 1:15PM–1:45PM
Session Type: Professional Development
We all know the humorous and insightful book All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten. We also now know that there is evidence to back up this claim in a 20-year retrospective study published in the July 2015 issue of The American Journal of Public Health by Jones, Greenberg, and Crowley. What does this research tell us about leadership in the teaching and learning IT space in higher education? This short talk will explore the keys to success that we all learned before the age of six and how to put them to use in the complex and exciting world that we navigate in our institutions and beyond.

Participants will learn how to use the following skills to lead in teaching and learning IT: conflict resolution, listening, sharing, and cooperation.
