A digital badge is a credential ideally suited for the electronic, networked world of 21st-century work. This session examines the badge process to identify opportunities, strategies (e.g., organizational structures, the role of institutional IT), and challenges that are inherent in this emerging form of educational certification. Current institutional initiatives and existing resources are presented. This session provides CIOs with what they need to know to anticipate future developments in the digital badge ecosystem.
