Effective leaders understand leadership style and the context in which they make decisions. This session will review leadership theories and allow participants to consider institutional roles and structures. Activities will focus on understanding decision making and leveraging information to provide a framework for more effective leadership.


  • Identify theories of leadership and discuss how "leaderful" practice affects decision-making processes
  • Learn how to take a leadership role regardless of position
  • Identify methods for enhancing your "leaderful" practice and supporting that practice in others
  • Increase your awareness of how leaders change the way they obtain information and create options as they take on more responsibilities
  • Reflect on how you see yourself growing in the implementation of "leaderful" behaviors
