South Korea Encouraged by the success of our pilot event in Korea in November 2011 we are pleased to announce SANS Korea 2012, 5-13 November 2012, taught by SANS' top instructors from the United States. This is a great opportunity to benefit from the world's best hands-on information security training and certification while saving on travel costs!
SANS Korea 2012 will be held at the Coex World Trade Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. We are organizing this event in collaboration with our local Korean partner ITL. To access ITL's Korean Language site for this event, please click here. Classes will be taught in English.
This pilot event will feature our core courses in Security Essentials, Network Penetration Testing and Forensics.
Security 401: SANS Security Essentials Bootcamp Style (GIAC : GSEC) taught by SANS Senior Instructor Stephen Sims.
Maximize your training time and turbo-charge your career in security by learning the full SANS Security Essentials curriculum needed to qualify for the GSEC certification. In this course you will learn the language and underlying theory of computer security. At the same time you will learn the essential, up-to-the-minute knowledge and skills required for effective performance if you are given the responsibility for securing systems and/or organizations. This course meets both of the key promises SANS makes to our students: (1) You will gain up-to-the-minute knowledge you can put into practice immediately upon returning to work; and, (2) You will be taught by the best security instructors in the industry. As always, great teaching sets SANS courses apart, and SANS ensures this by choosing instructors who have ranked highest in a nine-year competition among potential security faculty.
Forensics 508: Advanced Computer Forensic Analysis and Incident Response (GIAC: GCFA) taught by SANS Faculty Fellow, Rob Lee.
Fight crime. Unravel incidents... One byte at a time.
This course will help you start to become a master of advanced incident response and computer forensics tools and techniques to investigate data breach intrusions, tech-savvy rogue employees, the advanced persistent threat, and complex digital forensic cases.
Security 560: Network Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking (GIAC: GPEN) taught by SANS Certified Instructor Bryce Galbraith.
This six-day course starts with proper planning, scoping and recon, and then dives deep into scanning, target exploitation, password attacks, and wireless and web apps with detailed hands-on exercises and practical tips for doing the job safely and effectively.
In addition we are offering the following specialized short course on Nov 12-13
Security 580: Metasploit Kung Fu for Enterprise Pen Testing taught by SANS Certified Instructor Bryce Galbraith.
This two-day class will show students how to apply the incredible capabilities of the Metasploit Framework in a comprehensive penetration testing and vulnerability assessment regimen, according to a thorough methodology for performing effective tests. Students who complete the course will have a firm understanding of how Metasploit can fit into their penetration testing and day-to-day assessment activities.
The above long courses are associated with GIAC (Global Information Assurance Certification).
