Protecting Privacy in a Sea of Data

Tuesday, April 21 | 10:00AM–11:00AM | Peachtree Ballroom D/E (8th floor)
Session Type: Professional Development
The volume of digital data is growing at a rate that is nearly unimaginable. In 2007, the digital universe was estimated to be 161 exabytes of information collected and stored, with a further tenfold increase projected for 2011. It's no wonder that information security and privacy professionals in all organizations often feel like they're drowning in a sea of data! At the same time, the tide of public concern about privacy and identity theft is rising. This session will discuss aspects of the current information management challenge and will suggest some strategies for keeping our heads above water.
