Effective Data Governance Practices

Data stewardship and governance are complex topics in higher education due to the distributed nature of our organizations. At Notre Dame, we've built an effective information governance program in collaboration with our colleagues across the administration. We embrace five pillars in this program: quality and consistency; policies and standards; security and privacy; compliance; and retention and archiving. We believe that our program's success is largely attributable to its integration with the university's business intelligence program.
