Keeping Cybersecurity Awareness Interesting and Relevant

Wednesday, May 07 | 2:30PM–3:30PM | Grand Ballroom Salon B
Session Type: Professional Development

In observance of National Cyber Security Awareness Month (October), Kennesaw State University held its fifth annual Cyber Security Awareness Day. Since the inaugural event, we have collected metrics to help us understand which factors contributed to each event's success and to identify growth opportunities. These metrics will serve as the backdrop for this session's discussion on the evolution of KSU's Cyber Security Awareness Day. Participants will learn how to build a similar event from scratch, with a minimal budget, and ensure success from day one.

OUTCOMES:
Understand the long-term value of incorporating metrics into security education * Learn what factors led to our event's success and what areas failed to yield the desired results * Learn how to start a cybersecurity awareness event at your institution, for little or no cost, and succeed from the start
