Abstract
Nontraditional students have been the chief beneficiaries of distance education at schools like Thomas Edison State College, where delivering undergraduate adult education is the central mission. Increasing numbers of such students on the horizon are prompting other types of colleges and universities to evaluate the uses of technology to make education more accessible, efficient, and effective in the future. Thomas Edison's Computer-Assisted Lifelong Learning (CALL) System provides a good example of how one institution is using technology to meet tomorrow's challenges today.
