Saturday, January 1, 2000
Abstract
This report is the product of a meeting convened by EDUCAUSE and the National Science Foundation (NSF) to discuss the digital divide as it pertains to advanced networks at smaller institutions. Participants identified a number of recommendations for the President's Information Technology Advisory Committee, which had requested the meeting, including supporting research in smaller institutions; encouraging the expansion of advanced network access; creating tax incentives to foster necessary infrastructure; and addressing the shortage of IT workers in higher education.
