College Teaching and Technology Plans: Centralizing Web-Enhanced Course Design in a Decentralized Environment

Abstract

Educational technology professionals are charged with increasing the number of courses that integrate technology into the curriculum and helping faculty design courses that improve the learning outcomes. Educational technology directors from Harvard, MIT, Boston College, Lesley, and Northeastern have designed a methodology and process for the development of college technology plans that respond to the disparate needs of the diverse academic environment and work toward providing a core set of skills and tools.
