Developing Rich Mobile Applications for the Institution: Trends, Technologies, and Options
Wednesday, December 8, 2010
Abstract
Presentation at the 2010 ECAR Symposium, December 8, 2010, in Carlsbad, California. The meteoric rise in popularity of smart phones and other mobile devices has prompted a desire for customized, rich, mobile applications to accommodate an increasingly mobile workforce and student body. Emerging development platforms help ease the burden of developing cross-platform applications, but choosing the correct platform is challenging and requires a clear understanding of the market and capabilities of the various options. This session examines the various options for delivering enterprise rich-media apps to smart phones and other mobile devices, and the challenges of doing so.
