Disrupting Class: How Disruptive Innovation Will Change the Way the World Learns
Thursday, December 3, 2009
Presentation at the 2009 EDUCAUSE Center for Analysis and Research (ECAR) Symposium, December 3, 2009, in Carlsbad, California, by Michael B. Horn, Executive Director, Education, and co-founder of the Innosight Institute. Horn discusses how the age-old business model in higher education is broken and how this creates many opportunities for disruption in the post-secondary space. Disruption has rolled through higher education before, but as a result of the technology enablers now available, the impact could be dramatic. Disruptive innovations in higher education have the potential to result in a system that provides higher quality, improved access and convenience, and significantly greater affordability to many more students. Horn highlights some opportunities to drive this positive change.
