Abstract
This paper emphasizes the support issues of distance education and provides thoughts from several institutional perspectives. The paper includes a brief overview of various methods of delivering distance education. An example of the costs associated with implementing an interactive video system is provided. There is also a section on the support needed for the students and the staff to develop Web-based distance education courses. Throughout, there are examples of what institutions are doing to make distance learning programs work.
