Abstract

IT security is a critical issue for institutions of higher education. Increasingly, federal (HIPAA and Gramm-Leach-Bliley) and state laws and regulations are impacting higher education. This preconference seminar, held during the 2004 Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference (MARC), covers Security Task Force initiatives, The Effective Security Practices Guide (ESPG), and various risk assessment case studies.
