Elements of Effective Strategical Planning for Technology in Education

Abstract

This paper discusses areas important to the strategic planning of technology-based distributed education. The following topic areas are discussed: (a) network infrastructure and instructional delivery, (b) Web's role in academic and administrative operations, (c) instructional support system and technology-based education, (d) faculty and student development in basic competency and information literacy, and (e) computer-based distance education for K-12 and adult learners. There is also a comparison of linear models and updates models of strategic planning.
