Abstract

The problem: Virginia Tech enterprise resource planning (ERP) data in jail. The solution: Create a data access architecture around a data warehouse. Virginia Tech is building an enterprise data warehouse, one subject area at a time. A metadata component provides the business definitions for warehouse elements along with the data. This session will describe how Virginia Tech created a data access architecture that supports growth and provides a consistent business view of data as the underlying systems evolve.
