Evolving Video Conferencing Technologies: New Opportunities for Integration

Thursday, January 1, 1998

As the connectivity, affordability, and functionality of desktop and small room video conferencing systems have improved in the past two years, Baylor University has begun to incorporate distance education and video conferencing capabilities into technology classrooms as standard equipment. This paper discusses how emerging telecommunications technologies, standards-based network design, and the development of a suitable network infrastructure are all critical in effectively implementing innovative teaching and learning applications.
