Abstract
This four-page report summarizes the reports of three task forces of the Association of American Universities: Acquisitions and Distribution of Foreign Language and Area Studies Materials, A National Strategy for Managing Scientific and Technical Information, and Intellectual Property Rights in an Electronic Environment. This AAU Research Libraries Project, conducted in collaboration with the Association of Research Libraries, endorses an action agenda that takes on critical issues in defining a new information environment for research and teaching in higher education, including intellectual property and copyrights and the importance of electronic competition to traditional print publication of scientific information.
