Higher Education ERP: Lessons Learned

Monday, January 1, 2001

Abstract

Universities are now spending in excess of $20 million each to implement modern enterprise resource planning (ERP) projects that can take two, three, or more years to implement. The early report cards are coming in from across the country in regard to ERP projects in higher education, and the results are mixed. The two authors of this report, both CIOs of large universities, share their experiences and lessons learned on ERP and provide a framework to approach an ERP that could save your university millions of dollars.
