Improving Team Performance with Facilitation

Abstract

This paper discusses the program Ohio State University used to increase the teamwork skills of its Technology Services Staff. The Office of Human Resources joined with University Technology Services to create a series of four workshops to teach meeting, interpersonal, and team skills. The four workshops are (1) conducting and attending effective meetings, (2) facilitating for success: techniques and tools, (3) improving team effectiveness: a high performance model, and (4) team-based problem solving. The paper also provides information about facilitation resources.
