IT as a Game Changer in Teaching & Learning
Thursday, July 28, 2011
Abstract
Presentation at the 2011 ECAR Symposium, July 28, 2011, in Chicago, Illinois. Is technology a “game changer” in teaching and learning? Will Facebook and the iPad really change how we deliver learning, who delivers it, and to whom? As schools are we suffering from marketing myopia, and are we destined to go the way of the horse and buggy? Why is change in higher education so hard? We are the folks who invented the computer and the Internet, but how relevant are we today? Do educational technologies truly help our institutions function at peak capacity? How might we create an education technology ecosystem to foster and drive scalable innovation?
