Killing the Electronic Messenger

Monday, January 1, 1996

Abstract

In this Viewpoint article, the author argues that using Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) to transmit student records is as secure as other means of exchange and, in fact, can provide superior protection of information. Two other articles in this issue are related to the topic of privacy: "The Use of Electronic Data Interchange under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act" (cem9618) and "Electronic Data Interchange: We Are Stampeding" (cem9619).
