Thursday, January 1, 1998
Abstract
At the 1998 Seminars on Academic Computing (SAC, an EDUCAUSE Affiliate), Sir John Daniel, vice-chancellor, United Kingdom Open University, presented an excellent keynote address on knowledge media for global universities, followed by a panel discussion with Governors Roy Romer (Colorado) and Michael Leavitt (Utah), co-founders of the Western Governors University. CAUSE/EFFECT invited EDUCAUSE Board Chair Polley Ann McClure to pose additional questions to all three leaders about higher education in a global marketplace and to Sir John Daniel about the United Kingdom's very successful Open University.
