Abstract
This paper addresses the organizational dynamics that can hinder or destroy data warehouse development projects by relating the experience of the University of Missouri System in such a project. The organizational issues in this case study included the relationships between the major groups involved in the project and their autonomous nature, which presented special and unique concerns about data integrity and differing policies within each legacy system. The paper includes a discussion of activities that were key to the project's success, such as working across organizational lines.
