Abstract
Leveraged for institutional identity verification, enterprise authentication systems are also increasingly relied on to supply this function for off-campus organizations. A case in point is Shibboleth, a Web-based interorganizational authorization system, which leverages an institution's authentication system and attribute repository to service interinstitutional applications and resources sharing. This session will provide an overview of the Shibboleth technology, along with a discussion of the role the authentication system and related policy and procedures play.
