Washington State University's Credit Card Payment Service

Abstract
This paper examines Washington State University's experience with the credit card payment service that was implemented in March 1998. The credit card payment service is used by a Web application and integrated with a legacy accounting system. The paper provides an overview of the credit card process, components of the credit card payment service, security issues, current and future applications, and project cost. Current applications include payment collection of tuition, childcare, housing, dining, and admission applications.
