Biography
Adrian Gallagher has had over 20 years of experience in Academic and Special Libraries, most recently as Manager of the RMIT Swanston Library and the Victorian Parliamentary Library. From 1999 to 2005 Adrian contributed to the creation and subsequent refurbishment of a large scale Information Commons (Learning Centre) which aimed to transform the library from a traditional study hall to a key space for student centred online learning - zoned to cater for both collaborative and reflective learning styles. In July this year, Adrian took up the position of Learning Commons Manager at Victoria University, where he is working on a range of Learning Commons projects including the creation of the Footscray Park learning Commons due to be completed in late 2009.
