Membership Information

Ashlan has always had a keen interest in understanding the why and how of things. She’s transformed from a “But why?” youth to a “Why is it newsworthy?” and “What’s the benefit?” professional.

Ashlan brings this passion to her writing, giving EDUCAUSE members the information they need to decide which services and resources will help them do their jobs better.

As an experienced marketing coordinator at EDUCAUSE, Ashlan has many opportunities to work beyond her role, including leading the marketing and communications strategy and planning for the Administrative IT Summit, Higher Education Information Security Council (HEISC), National Cyber Security Awareness Month, and Data Privacy Day.

Ashlan also supports the EDUCAUSE data and analytics programs and services by organizing, preparing, and implementing communications for the EDUCAUSE Center for Analysis and Research, the Core Data Service, and the IT Governance, Risk, and Compliance program.

Through these offerings EDUCAUSE gives higher education leaders and decision makers the authentic, accurate, and reliable information they need to identify and plan for the future.

The CIO Experience at the EDUCAUSE Annual Conference is also an important part of Ashlan’s role. She values this opportunity to help convene the best thinking in higher education IT. It’s the premier conference for the profession and a highly-anticipated venue for IT leaders to share ideas.

Before joining EDUCAUSE, Ashlan worked in advertising for a Colorado-based business journal and a leading cable company. Ashlan has a B.A. in Journalism and Media Communication from Colorado State University.

A native Coloradoan, Ashlan enjoys being and exercising outdoors. She also enjoys investing in the microbrewery economy, one taster at time.
