Bill Hogue

Biography

Dr. Bill Hogue is Senior Clinical Professor of Information Science and Executive Consultant for Enterprise Initiatives at the University of South Carolina.  Bill was Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer for the online college and eight campuses of the University of South Carolina from 2000 until early 2017. His duties included development of IT, research cyberinfrastructure and distance education infrastructure support strategy, policy, and practice for some 60-thousand students, faculty, and staff at 2-year, 4-year, and research institutions within the USC System. Bill serves on the EDUCAUSE Board of Directors (2013-2017), and was recognized with the first EDUCAUSE Community Leadership Award in 2013. During his nearly four decade career, Bill also held IT leadership positions at Vanderbilt University, the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire and University of Wisconsin System, and MIT. He holds undergraduate and master's degrees from the University of South Carolina and a doctorate from Harvard University.
