Brendan Bellina is the Identity Services Architect and manager of the Information Technology Services - Enterprise Middleware Development group for the University of Southern California. His career in corporate Information Technology began in 1982 and he has been working in higher education IT since 1999. From 1999 to 2005 he worked as a manager and engineer at the University of Notre Dame, architecting the university's Metadata Repository, Data Warehouse, and Enterprise Directory Service. In 2005 he relocated to the west coast to become USC's Identity Services Architect. He is a frequent presenter on middleware technologies at regional and national conferences, has edited and authored white papers on directory services for the NSF Middleware Initiative (NMI), and is the author of "Look", an NMI-released Perl utility for collecting performance statistics from LDAP directories. He has been an active member of the Internet2 Middleware Architecture Committee for Education (MACE) Directory Services working team since 2002 and began chairing that working group in February 2008.
