Brian McDonald is President of MOR Associates. Maximizing Organizational Resources (MOR) was created in 1983 to assist clients in developing strategies designed to elicit the contributions employees want to make to enhance the success of their enterprise.Brian has increasingly focused his practice on developing leaders, enhancing strategic thinking and consulting on continuous improvement efforts. His experience, style, insights, and passion have made him a valuable resource for organizations looking to achieve better performance.Brians expertise in designing and delivering leadership development has resulted in his co-facilitating MITs Leader to Leader program, New England Business Service (NEBS) Leadership Development Program, New York State Education Departments Leadership Academy, and MOR Associates own IT Leaders Program, which counts participation from Stanford, MIT, Duke, Brown, Cornell, Columbia, UPenn, Penn State, the University of Texas, the University of Chicago, the University of Wisconsin, and the University of California at Berkeley. Brian has also participated in programs such as GE Capital Leadership Symposium in Europe and is working with Tufts University School of Engineering to integrate leadership and teamwork into the curriculum.Brian has developed a practical approach to strategic thinking that can be used to set a strategic course or can be used as a framework for tackling a specific issue. This approach has been used to analyze billion dollar markets with the United States Postal Service, for outlining a five-year plan for the School of Engineering at Tufts, and as a process for establishing the strategic direction for business units.Brian has been consulting to IT organizations for the past ten years. This has included work with MIT, Stanford, Emory, NYU, and Tufts University. At Tufts he facilitated the formation of their Information Technology Council. This council, made up of sixteen representatives drawn from the seven colleges and central office, reached agreement on the services that need to be centralized, those that should be decentralized, and how all of them would be supported financially. At MIT, Brian has consulted to their Information Services Leadership Team on strategic direction, organizational design and improving customer satisfaction. His firm, MOR Associates, has also conducted large-scale customer satisfaction surveys for IT organizations at MIT, Stanford and NYUBrian has served as a consultant to national steering committees established to lead and manage major change processes. He has provided training to over 10,000 individuals for the USPS on how to develop a cooperative work climate and involve employees. He has consulted to the Board of Regents for New York State. He facilitated the debriefing of the TWA Flight 800 recovery operations with over 125 participants from multiple agencies. Brian created a prototype course and train-the-trainer program for New York States Quality Process that was used to provide skill development for over 30,000 people.Prior to establishing his firm, Brian was the Associate Director for the Northeast Labor Management Center and before that he was Deputy Chief Secretary to the Governor of Massachusetts. He taught courses as an adjunct faculty member for the Suffolk University School of Management and presented guest lectures at both the Boston University Graduate School of Management and the Tufts University School of Engineering. Brian was awarded his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts and his graduate degree from Boston University.
