With a background in architectural planning and building design, Cathy's work over the past thirteen years has been focused on higher ed web systems development and design, emphasizing continual, iterative refinement for the authoring and outward interfaces.

Nurturing relationships with faculty, staff, and instructional technologists has been central to her process, based on the belief that the primary job of the higher education web practitioner is not to manage technology or support marketing, but to strive for deeper understanding of academic culture and its relationship to the larger society. Cathy holds a firm belief that web technologies to support education have much to offer in terms of inspiring creative work and development of web technologies used throughout the higher education enterprise.
