Biography

Chandragupta Gudena is the Chief Information Officer for Sul Ross State University, a post he has held since September 19, 2011. Mr. Gudena is responsible for providing university-wide leadership for information technology services in support of administration, instruction, research, and outreach. He is responsible for strategic planning and management of academic and administrative computing resources, voice, video and data communications. As a senior executive of the university’s leadership team, Mr. Gudena serves on the Executive Cabinet representing the Information Technology organization. Prior to joining Sul Ross State University, Mr. Gudena was the Assistant Vice President for Information Technology at Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, Massachusetts.

Mr. Gudena has served on strategic planning committees and taskforces such as, the President’s Climate Commitment Taskforce, Space Planning committees, Enterprise Security Board for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, CIO council for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Information Security Councils and Strategic Enrolment Planning committee. Mr. Gudena has presented at conferences such as Educause and SPIE (The International society for Optics and Photonics).

Mr. Gudena earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electronics and Communication from Andhra University, and Master of Science (M.S.) in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at El Paso. He has participated in the Harvard University’s Institute for Leadership and Management in Higher Education. Mr. Gudena is currently pursuing Doctor of Business Administration in Strategy and Innovation from Capella University. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a distinction he earned in September 2006.
