Biography

Clayton R. Wright, PhD has been actively involved with a number of international collaborative efforts aimed at advancing educational systems through the use of learning technologies and gained international experience with the Association of Canadian Community Colleges, the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, the Commonwealth of Learning, the Commonwealth Secretariat, Southern African Development Community (SADC), United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). He has secondary and post-secondary teaching and administrative experience in Quebec, Ontario, and Alberta, Canada. For 21-years, he led an award-winning college team that supported the planning, development, and implementation of educational technology. He has been one of several distance education assessors approved by the Ontario Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development (previously the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities) to determine the readiness of private career colleges to deliver programs via distance education. Dr. Wright is committed to the improvement of social and economic conditions through education as he passionately believes that education opens doors and changes lives. Therefore, he lectures, leads workshops, and conducts educational evaluations in many countries, including Bangladesh, Botswana, Brazil, The Gambia, Hungary, India, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, Malawi, Malaysia, Nigeria, Russia, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, St. Lucia, Switzerland, Tanzania, and Thailand. He primarily focuses on curriculum development, instructional design, professional development, educational technology, quality assurance, and open and distance learning in Canadian and international settings.
