Biography

Cynthia Golden is the director of the Center for Instructional Development & Distance Education at the University of Pittsburgh, where she is responsible for leading online learning, teaching support, instructional technology, measurement and evaluation of teaching, and other academic support services. Prior to joining Pitt, Cynthia served 8 years as Vice President of EDUCAUSE, where she led the association's professional development activities. She previously held CIO and senior IT leadership roles at Duquesne University, MIT and Carnegie Mellon.

Currently, she directs the Senior Leadership Roundtable at EDUCAUSE, serves as a faculty member in the EDUCAUSE New IT Mangers program and recently completed 3 years as a faculty member in the Sloan-C Institute for Engaged Leadership in Online Learning. She has served on numerous boards, participated on national conference program committees; and served as a member of many professional association committees during her career.
