Biography
Daniel Blum is an internationally renowned industry expert in the fields of networking security, directory, messaging, and enterprise application infrastructure. With over 20 years of experience, he is intimately familiar with the success factors required by both Fortune 1000 IT departments and key technology suppliers. The author of two critically acclaimed technical books, hundreds of trade press columns and articles, and dozens of analyst reports, Blum has also developed security, directory, and other IT architectures and strategies for some of the world's largest and most innovative organizations.
Before joining Burton Group, Blum was a principal at the leading messaging and directory consulting organization, Rapport Communication. As Burton's senior vice president and principal consultant from 1998 through the end of 2000, he increased revenue 400% and created a well-organized, highly profitable consulting practice that is now closely integrated with Burton's research services.
Today, Blum serves as the senior vice president and research director for Burton's Directory and Security Strategies service. As a chief architect, security analyst, key conference speaker, and thought leader, he continues to dramatically improve the quality and quantity of this already strong service. Moreover, Blum supports Burton's continued development of related consulting practices and contributes to high-stakes consulting engagements.
