Biography

David Ecker is the Director of iCREATE, in the Division of Information Technology at Stony Brook University (SUNY).  In his role as Director he leads all aspects of the innovation and entrepreneurship components of the department which includes running all facilities, services and events.  Which include 3D printing, laser cutting, digital media as well as showcase events such as WolfieTank and InnovateIT.    David brings a background of management, innovative approaches, client interactions, collaboration building and project/system management to his role.   Outside his formal duties, David has been an adjunct faculty member for many years teaching in Honors College and the Undergraduate colleges. He volunteers to help others with innovation/entrepreneurial pursuits and believes hands on learning is the future for success in this century.  In addition has many years running IT organizations and brings a wealth of knowledge/experience to the role.   David is an alumni from Stony Brook University, he holds a M.S. in Technological Systems Management, as well as a B.S. in Computer Science.
