Biography

Dr. Neville earned a Ph.D. in German language and literature, with an emphasis in Medieval Studies, in 2002 from Washington University in St. Louis. Realizing the increasingly important role that technology plays in higher education, he continued his post-doctoral studies in Computer Science at Weber State University before transferring to the Department of Instructional Technology at Utah State University, where he earned a M.S. in 2008 with a minor in Computer Science and Business Information Systems. Although trained as a medievalist, Dr. Neville's research interests also include cognitive load theory (CLT), computer-assisted language learning (CALL), digital game-based learning (DGBL), digital humanities, video game studies, Web engineering, and problem-based learning (PBL).
