David Shulman

Biography

Dr. David Shulman was named Executive Vice President for Academic Operations for University of the People in 2019. Prior to joining University of the People he served as President of Broward College Online, the global virtual campus of Broward College, Florida. In addition, he oversaw college-wide Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics programs, the Office of Disability Services, and the International Education Department.

Apart from his higher education experience, he also brings 15 years of educational technology experience in the K-12 arena. He was instrumental in launching the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Virtual Campus, and the deployment of emerging technologies that served over 356,000 students across the District’s 516 schools. Prior to entering the education realm, Dr. Shulman’s background experience was in the private sector in Information Technology management.

Dr. Shulman holds Licentiate Diplomas in Classical Music Performance from both The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, and Trinity College of Music, London. He earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Western International University, a M.S. in Educational Technology from Barry University, and a Ph.D. in Information Science from Nova Southeastern University.
